Renown Bi Leaders Give Workshops at BECAUSE Conference

1416803133An incredible array of notable bisexual leaders are presenting workshops, some for the first time time, at the regional BECAUSE Conference scheduled from April 17 to 19 at the University of Minnesota.

Robyn Ochs will be presenting: Beyond Binaries: Identity & Sexuality, and Challenging Bi Erasure and Biphobia; Heron Greenesmith and Nancy Marcus will be discussing BiLaw! BiLawrriors Discuss Bringing Bisexuals to Legal Discourse and Bringing the Law to Bisexuals (AKA How To Start A New Bi Organization for Your Profession); Faith Cheltenham will be discussion Intersection Electric: An Interactive Tour Of Black and Bisexual Histories/Culture (with games!); Eliel Cruz will be talking about Queering Scripture: Finding Our Identities in the Holy Text and filmmaker Alexia Anastasio will discuss Using Improv in Your Daily Life.

American Institute of Bisexuality president John Sylla is presenting How To Think About Outreach About Bisexuality, and Michael Holt is doing Exploring the Kink Community.

Rabbi Debra Kolodny has two seminars called Using Sacred Texts in Political Environments  and Five Rhythms Torah Dance Study. Other seminars include subjects like polyamory, HIV, sexual activism and gender violence as well as many other topics, some for younger audiences and some for more mature audiences.

Keynote speakers include Andrea Jenkins and Eliel Cruz.

Mike Szymanski
Mike Szymanski has written about bisexual issues since 1989 and has one of the longest-running regular bisexual columns as the National Bisexuality Examiner. He came out as bisexual in a cover story of Genre magazine, which resulted in more than 50 television appearances, including Ricki Lake, Phil Donahue Show and 20/20.
