Hi, I‘m John. I am Bisexual.

Grad student I like playing online chess and I watch a crazy amount of movies I like all kinds of music from old time mountain music to brutal death metal.

What being bisexual means to me

When I like really like the vibe someone is putting out there, it doesn't matter if they're male or female or trans, I will be attracted to them if they are relatively fit.

What I would like the world to know about bisexuals

We DO exist, dammit!

What was your path to a bisexual identity?

Always was attracted to women. Became aware of my attraction to men more slowly, and when I confided in other people - they were like "dude you're gay! you'll realize you don't like women at all when you're older!" So then I tried just being gay...and I was always finding myself attracted to girls. I know that I can't force myself to just be straight, and neither can i force myself to just be gay...

What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?

Coming out, because sometimes it's hard to bring that up in conversation in a natural way, and people often don't believe you and want to ask you tons of questions to see if you qualify.

How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality?

Family - overwhelmingly negative
Friends - I didn't have any homophobic friends, but had lots of friends that were really judgmental about bisexuality - if I had been gay, they would have been cool with it, but being bi was weird to them.
