Hi, I‘m Louise. I am Bisexual.

Hello :) I am 15 years old and from Germany. I am going on an exchange in a month. In my free time I often do volunteer work or communicate with my best friend, who lives in Wales.

What being bisexual means to me

I am proud of who I am, even if I'm not out in school or to "not so close" friends. It's important for me to not be treated different by female friends because of my sexual orientation. I supported gay rights way before I was even suspecting to be queer.

What I would like the world to know about bisexuals

We are normal people, and no, we don't fancy everyone around us. Yes, we do have a type, and no, we do not have threesomes all the time!

What was your path to a bisexual identity?

I figured I was bi when I was 13, nearly 14. It was a hard time for me, going through depression and self harm, till I finally had the courage to come out to my parents and sister.

What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?

The fear to be avoided by others because of it.

How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality?

Great! My family and close friends haven't made a big deal out of it and we just live lives like before.

What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?

Stay true to who you are. If you're afraid of what someone will say, ask about lgbtq in general, before you come out.
