Hi, I‘m April. I am Bisexual. I'm a total music lover, and I hope to move to California within the next few years. I don't get along with my family (at all...), but I absolutely LOVE to meet new people. :)
What being bisexual means to meI think love is love. You're a woman and love a woman? Awesome. You're a guy and love a guy? Sweet. You love both genders? Cool.
What I would like the world to know about bisexualsWe're real. It IS possible to be attracted to both sexes. It does NOT mean we are confused or going through a stage.
What was your path to a bisexual identity?Honestly, I have no idea. I've always been attracted to men and woman. I don't necessarily have a distinct memory of noticing my feelings.
What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?None of my friends know (excluding one of my gay friends), nor does anyone in my family. Both of my parents think being bi just means you like to have sex with whatever moves. They don't agree with gays or lesbians, and they think bisexuality is fake, which is the reason I'm deathly afraid of telling them.
What is the best thing about being bisexual?I honestly don't know if I've figured that out yet. I guess the bisexual community is pretty comforting, though.
How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality?Nobody knows.
What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?As for wondering if you're bi, I'd say just experiment. Try to figure out what you like, even if it means going for someone of the same gender. You don't know until you try! I haven't come out yet, so I'm not much help on advice for coming out.
