Hi, I‘m Rafaella. I am Bisexual.

I'm Brazilian, work as a concierge, and play roller derby.

What being bisexual means to me

I accept myself.

What I would like the world to know about bisexuals

There is no need to have both boys and girls all the time. I am a monogamist and that's it.

What was your path to a bisexual identity?

I knew that I wasn't a lesbian because I liked boys. I couldn't understand why I liked girls too. Was it just a psychological barrier? Then, I fell in love with a boy, and then a girl. So, I noticed that I could fall in love, and have sex with both. And, it wasn't just the effects of alcohol.

What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?

Other people. I prefer to say that I'm a lesbian, so people accept me easier.

What is the best thing about being bisexual?

There are no barriers to love.

How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality?

They think that I'm kidding. They think I'm a lesbian. They just can't understand.

What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?

See the answer inside yourself. That's enough. And, bi happy. ☺
