Hi, I‘m Alyssa. I am Bisexual.

I'm 19, bisexual, and from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am in college and majoring in Psychology. I love all kinds of music, reading, and playing piano. I also love photography.

What being bisexual means to me

It makes me feel like I am actually at peace with myself, like I finally know exactly who I am.

What I would like the world to know about bisexuals

We are not all about sex, or threesomes, and we are human beings too!

What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?

The toughest thing is coming out to people. Many of my friends and family say that I am doing this for attention, that I'm confused, and even that I'm just "experimenting" and that it is just a phase.

What is the best thing about being bisexual?

The best thing about being bisexual is loving whom I want to love and being open!

How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality?

Many people say that I really am not bisexual, and many react negatively. Many of my friends and family have disapproved, but occasionally I will get some people who will tell me "that's great!".

What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?

Be who you are and don't let other people try to persuade you to be what you are not. Don't think about who will react in a certain way, just decide on whatever makes YOU happy!
