Female

Bisexual

United States

Hi, I‘m Darian. I am Bisexual.

Well I am from Corpus Christi Texas! I am a caregiver for the Elderly and I love my job!! I am currently a student in College for forensic science. I like to play the tuba and saxophone or just listen to music in general. I love to read and learn new things!

What being bisexual means to me

Being bi means that I don't have to stick to the norm that society thinks you should. It means I can love who ever I choose to love, and even though I might be judged for it, I do not care because it's my life not society's.

What I would like the world to know about bisexuals

I would like the world to know that bi people are regular people and we live regular lives.

What was your path to a bisexual identity?

It was a rough path because around the age of 10 I knew that I was attracted to males and females, but my family at first was against me even entertaining the fact that I liked females. They always believed women should lay with man but as I got older my family finally accepted who I was and loved me for finally being able to be myself.

What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?

People always trying to tell me that it's wrong and I'm just confused, but I have known for 13 years who exactly I am .

What is the best thing about being bisexual?

Being part of the LGBT pride!! I finally have a friends who understand me!

How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality?

It is always a hit-and-miss; some are proud because I know who I am. Others are not so proud because "it's not fair" that I can like male or female, I have to pick one..

What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?

There are always going to be people who judge you. Stay true to yourself and all will be fine! Never try to become part of the "NORM"- it will always make you unhappy.
