Hi, I‘m Simon. I am Bisexual.

Originally from the U.K, I moved to Australia in 2004. I run my own Finance Broking business, and In my spare time I like the outdoors, trail running, the arts, good food and catching up with friends.

What being bisexual means to me

Being free to be me. Being happy with who I am; able to date people based on a connection and not gender.

What I would like the world to know about bisexuals

We have feelings too. Don't judge or assume. If you want to know something, just ask.

What was your path to a bisexual identity?

I've always had a feeling that I was Bi, but it wasn't until my twenties that I made it a realization. I was then in a marriage for 9 years (to someone who didn't know about my sexuality), which looking back, probably wasn't the best idea to keep such a secret. Having been single for the past 18 months, I now have the opportunity to be honest with myself and others, and more importantly, be happy with who I am.

What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?

Not being understood.

What is the best thing about being bisexual?

Being able to date people based on the connection we have, not gender.

How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality?

Have only just decided to 'come out', so we'll have to see how things go.

What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?

The hardest thing in this world - is to live in it.
Be brave; Live......
Be who you are, not what others want you to be.
