Hi, I‘m Sue. I am Bisexual. I'm 47, live in Illinois, very happily married to a man and have 2 beautiful girls. I like to travel and go on vacation, love wine and reading romantic novels. I enjoy supporting my girls in their various school activities.
What being bisexual means to meBeing to love and being attracted to both male and females.
What I would like the world to know about bisexualsWe do exist, just because we are in a monogamous relationship with either a man or a woman doesn't mean we still aren't bisexual and attracted to the same or opposite sex whatever it may be.
What was your path to a bisexual identity?I've known since 7th grade.when looking at other girls in the locker room gave me the same butterflies as looking at the boys. I even attempted to kiss/fondle my best friend on a couple of different sleepovers, which she doesn't remember. I always was turned on by lesbian porn but didn't come out and say I was bisexual to my husband till recently although he knew.
What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?Right now since I've really accepted that I'm bisexual not being "out" to anyone but my husband. Even though I'm monogamous it's part of my identity and I'd like more people to know the real me.
What is the best thing about being bisexual?Being able to appreciate sexy woman with my husband. It's kinda fun.
How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality? My husband is supportive and the one friend I told had no issues with it but didn't see the need for me to "come out".
What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?If you think you might be, you probably are. I think for me at least it's about accepting and embracing your true self.
