Hi, I‘m Rob. I am Bisexual. I am a 55YO male from northern New York. I am divorced, having been married to a woman for almost 20 years. I have 2 daughters, ages 20 and 17, who mean the world to me. I work for the local power company and have for over 30 years. I am a huge sports fan, especially Syracuse University sports. I also enjoy ALL types of motorsports.
What being bisexual means to mebeing bisexual means that I can be physically attracted to both males and females. And I have been....
What I would like the world to know about bisexualsI would like to say that bisexuals DO exist. We are NOT just confused. There was a time when I thought I WAS gay but soon realized I miss so much about women, too !!
What was your path to a bisexual identity?I had 'explored' with some guys in my neighborhood when I was growing up, as I think a lot of guys do. I actually was involved with one friend right up until just before I got marred to my wife. I was exclusive to my wife for almost 20 years. After we divorced, I realized I still was attracted to men, that it had not just been a phase when I was growing up.
What is the toughest thing about being bisexual?Finding people that understand just how a person CAN be attracted to both sexes.....
What is the best thing about being bisexual?Being attracted to both sexes !!!! ;-)
How have other people in your life reacted to your bisexuality? For the most part, everybody has been pretty accepting..... except my dad, who took over 6 months to even talk to me again after I came out to him.... He is much better now.
What advice do you have for someone who thinks they may be bi or who is in the process of coming out as bi?Don't be afraid to be who you are !!!!
