More Millennials Identify as BLGT as Any Other Time

About double the percentage of youth identify as bisexual, gay, lesbian or transgender than they did only four years ago, according to a study from the Public Religion Research Institutrp_FB-1-300x300.jpge.

The study of American youth showed that 7 percent identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans, and that’s compared to 3.5 percent of the population in 2011.

The research was done by the Williams Institute.

“The contrast between the two studies is as stark as an Instagram filter — millennials are nearly twice as likely to identify as LGBT as other American adults,” writes The Daily Beast’s Samantha Allen.

The report is based on a survey of more than 2,000 U.S. adults between the ages of 18 and 35.
