Married Men Attracted to Men Speak Out Against Same-Sex Marriage
An unusual group of men who are attracted to men, and their wives, are petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court against same-sex marriage. They are not saying they are bisexual (which is perhaps a good thing), even though they may act like it.
The high court is expected to make a ruling by the end of April and this group calling themselves “same-sex attracted men and their wives” have filed a brief asking the Supreme Court not to recognize same-sex marriage because doing so “sends a harmful message.”
These are not ex-gays who have gone through reparative therapy, but they say they “fully accept the reality of their same-sex attractions and fully affirm their individual selfworth, just as they are.” But, they do not want to complicate things by allowing same-sex couplings.
In the brief, which can be found here, are a few instances that sound rather bisexual such as:
I want people to know that this choice, this choice I made, that Anissa and I made together, is possible and can bring happiness and hope. We have been able to do that. We’ve been able to have a sixteen-year marriage. We’re raising four fantastic sons.
A married father of three and a grandfather of five, said, “I wanted to have a family. I wanted to have children and a wife. That was a big issue for me through all this time: family, family, family.”
The “ex-gay” contingent have also weighed in, and that can be found here.
