Bisexual Characters on Broadway

Screen-Shot-2015-03-30-at-3.55.25-PM-2AfterEllen.com takes a look at “10 Lesbian and Bisexual Characters on Broadway.” That doesn’t mean the actors and actresses are bisexual, but their characters are.

Some of the characters have already been depicted in movies, such as The Color Purple and the movie Rent.

The Color Purple got a revival of the Alice Walker novel on stage which details the life of a woman named Celie as she tries to survive and thrive a harsh existence in the post-depression South. She was played by Whoopi Goldberg in the movie, on stage she is played by Jennifer Hudson, who is also an Oscar winner, like Goldberg.

There may be other characters that will soon make it to the big screen, but for now, they are interesting characters on the big stage in New York. CLICK HERE for the list.
