Bi Youth Opinion Piece Highlights Bi Erasure

Raechel-Price-150x150Raechel Price of the Spartan Daily writes a thoughtful piece about the first openly bisexual governor in the country, and bisexual erasure.

The article is entitled: “Off the straight & narrow: Bisexual erasure needs to stop.”

She writes:

Even within the queer community there is hatred.

I’ve had both male and female partners express insecurities about me leaving them for the opposite gender. I’ve had my sexuality thrown back in my face during countless arguments, leaving me to defend myself against the people I love and respect most.

I had an ex-girlfriend who completely erased my attraction to men in her language. During a discussion of the boundaries of our relationship she brought up the possibility of an open relationship of dating other girls.
