Alleged hate crime attacker says he’s a closeted bisexual

The man accused of beating up a youth in Corinth, Mississippi, that made national news, said he was bisexual aScreen Shot 2015-03-23 at 10.04.00 PMnd it wasn’t a hate crime.

James Scott has reportedly admitted to the brutal attack of young Devin Norman, who has been on video and photos showing his swollen eyes and busted lip.

Scott said he has never uttered a homophobic slur as some of the reports purport about the attack in the Walmart parking lot.

Scott told WREG, a local TV station, that he was a closeted bisexual man and that the victim was threatening to out him to people he knew. He said he struck the victim six times. Local activists and the victim say the attack was a hate crime.
